2022 Cape Fear Opportunities and Needs Grants Announcement
New Hanover Community Endowment announced its 2022 Cape Fear Opportunities and Needs Grant Partners at our live event on Friday December 9, 2022. Approximately $9 million in funding went to 110 grant partners in this unique grant cycle. The full grantee list will be available to view on our site as soon as possible.
Background
From September 1, 2022 through September 30, 2022, the endowment accepted applications from local nonprofits in New Hanover County. Applicants provided extensive information on their organizations’ missions, goals and plans for any funds that would be allocated. The endowment received 291 applications and will distribute one-time, non-renewable grants to selected grant partners.

At this time, we are not accepting grant applications. The community will be notified when the next cycle is scheduled to open.
Grant FAQs
We fund proposals within our four focus areas —social & health equity; community safety; community development; and education. We support capacity building, and strategic and responsive grantmaking that makes an impact across individual, family, organizational, community, and systemic levels.
Grants must benefit the residents of New Hanover County. The Endowment can only fund nonprofit organizations with a 501c3 IRS designation or public entities. We cannot provide grants or loans to for-profit organizations.
